MICROSTRATEGY – JAVA DEVELOPER PERM = $90-$105K PLUS 16% ANNUAL BONUS.   Job Description: SUMMARY: You will be responsible for the analysis, design, development, maintenance and support of web-based software applications using MicroStrategy’s SDK (Java experience is a must).  This development will include both extending the visualization layer of our MicroStrategy solutions on the front-end, but will also be responsible for designing and developing an integration strategy intended to connect our BI platforms with our operational systems. CLIENT already has a very mature MicroStrategy deployment with many customized extensions, and we are looking to continue to evolve our BI solutions through innovative design and sophisticated development. Are you ready for the challenge?  Required Skills: MicroStrategy Web Software Development Kit MicroStrategy Java Web API and Apache SOAP Toolkit Strong understanding of general Data Warehousing practices  Application Development:

  • Performs the following activities: requirements definition for medium-large sized enhancements, design, development, testing and implementation
  • Gains necessary input/approval of requirements and design and participates in code reviews and may perform code review for others
  • Ensures applications meet requirements and has few bugs
  • Develops system and user documentation
  • Researches solutions, develops alternatives and make recommendations
  • Production Support:
    • Supports the operations of existing applications
    • When on call, provides timely response and resolution of emergency production questions, issues and defects
    • Adheres to a production support process
  • Application Maintenance:
    • Works on periodic maintenance releases of applications, including enhancements and defects
    • May identify design improvements
  • Business Alignment:
    • Involves users in the development/maintenance of applications (e.g., requirements, testing)

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years related experience EXPERIENCE:

  • Required- Experience with MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform
  • Required- Experience with Web 2.0 programming – Java is a must
  • Required- Experience with writing and intrepreting SQL and general data warehousing practices
  • Preferred- OO Programming experience, HTML 5 programming; as well as, scripting languages (Korn shell, awk, Python)
  • Preferred-Perferred experience using Visual Basic and the .Net platform (VB.Net, ASP.Net, C#)
  • Preferred- Experience working with Oracle and Netezza
